Collector goes ahead with purchased of “destroyed” Banksy work
The story of Banksy’s latest public stunt continues. The anonymous collector is undeterred by the destruction of the work, saying that she sees it as a “piece of art history.” Per Hyperallergic: “Today, October 11, Sotheby’s fueled the continued, gripping saga of Banksy’s recent stunt, where he deployed the self-destruction of a 2006 painting of his, just as the gavel banged down on its $1.3 million sale. Banksy has “re-authenticated” the painting, originally titled “Girl With a Balloon” (2006). Its post-auction moniker is “Love Is In the Bin” (2018).”
Why advertising needs a work-life balance shift
Katie Dally of agency VMLY&R shares a persuasive argument for a readjustment of work culture: “We need to fundamentally shift our behaviour to integrate our home lives and our work lives, so that they can co-exist more harmoniously as one. After all, we are not a different person at work, to who we are at home – we are wives, mothers, husbands, fathers, leaders, colleagues, continuously. We don’t lead double lives, we lead one life.”
