Luisa Castellanos’ fashion illustrations are a beautiful marriage of traditional and modern. Using simple line work and minimal palettes, the Colombian-born illustrator and textile designer’s work is very reminiscent of folk art, with a fashion-forward twist. It’s not uncommon to find Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel-clad figures within Luisa’s portfolio, or an (illustrated) cameo appearance by Anna Wintour or Iris Apfel. At the very least, Luisa’s fresh designs provide nice visual relief for the otherwise typically bland landscapes of winter in January.
