London-based photographer Ronni Campana is definitely detail-oriented. Throughout his various series, from Hackney Surfaces à Fixed Badly, which is featured here, Campana is drawn to the micro level, training his eye on the world’s textures and imperfections to unveil new meanings and depths.
Fixed Badly is an examination of terrible fix-ups performed by car owners. From beaten up vans to luxury vehicles, these DIY jobs share “the same mended look” whose details speak volumes to Campana; “It is interesting to see, in this tiny detail, the gap between social classes disappear; the tape became now the gatherer among different people from different backgrounds and social classes.”
