Mária Švarbová’s ‘Human Space’ is a striking look at our environmental interactions

Photographer Mária Švarbová is well versed in the art of structure. With a background in archaeology and an eye for minimalist details, Mária’s photos seamlessly blend high fashion, art and design, set among surrealist inspired landscapes.

Based in Slovakia, Mária has been dedicating her art practice to photography since 2010, while simultaneously working as an art director. Her most recent portrait series Human Space is especially striking. Utilizing a design-minded approach to color and space, her subjects appear both beautifully lost in their surroundings and starkly in focus.
